Tonight, the Township Supervisors will be considering changes to the rules governing public meetings.

Please attend to listen and comment on these changes. I am including a link the first comment that reviews the changes proposed.

The meeting tonight will begin at 7pm with public comment early in the meeting. There is no comment time at the end of the meeting.

If the supervisors approve of the changes you will see the following:

1 - Public comment restricted to 30 minutes.

2 - Public comment ONLY on agenda items.

3 -Registration ahead of the meeting to make comment.

4 - Restriction of the supervisors to listen but not address the concerns or questions raised by the meeting attendees.

5 - A requirement to state your name and address (rather than to write your address on the request to speak sheet or to confirm you are a resident verbally)

If these things are a concern for you, come, comment and voice what you would recommend instead.

Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday at 7pm. Here is the agenda: (see below after my comments)

* Please call your Supervisors about 2 things. *

1. We want the PRD Section of the Township's Ordinance to move into the stage of approval, which means that they need to advertise for a Public Hearing..

2. Possible approval of Resolution 2025-04 Establishing guidelines for public comment at Public Meetings. Ask your Supervisor about this. I will have more tomorrow. They are going to discuss the changes, I HOPE, before anything is put in place. The last edits were in 1984. However, these changed will affect what you can say, how long you can speak, when you can speak and how long the public comment section is. Everything they are asking for is legal but just barely. One thing that you can ask for is that they have the discussion and then table the vote until April so that people have a chance to understand the changes first. Ask your Supervisor to share the draft with you.

I could use your help.

I have been working to create a centralized location for all Indiana Township Communications that goes beyond just recording public meetings. The idea is to create a space for all things, "Indiana Township' related.

2. Share this page with 3 neighbors and ask them to also sign up

3. Reply with the name of your neighborhood (if you are in one) and any organizations or businesses that you would like to see in the community space.

Reminder, tonight is a Board of Supervisors meeting. If you have read the new ordinance you can share your thoughts and questions at the beginning of the meeting before the board moves to announce at public hearing about this ordinance update.
