We are a group of women from Oakmont, Verona, Penn Hills, Plum and the surrounding communities who work towards making our community a better place through various social and intellectual outlets.

Our November meeting will be all about Caring for our Community. Join us for An Evening of Giving, this upcoming Monday, November 2nd at 7PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. (Board meets at 6PM.)

We will be making lovely, warm blankets. The blankets will be delivered to Light of Life Rescue Mission. That evening, we will also be collecting items to donate. If you have eyeglasses, nonperishable food items, travel-size toiletries, or other items to share, please bring them along. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

We will also discuss final planning for Dancing Dollies! This year, RWA members will be spreading holiday cheer as the Dancing Dollies in the 2026 Hometown Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 21.

Please bring a drink or snack to share. Hope to see you there!

👻 Don’t be scared—come join us for a spooktacular evening! 🎃

Our October program will feature Ghosts of Oakmont, presented by Gary Rogers of the Oakmont Historical Society.

Bring your friends, your curiosity, and maybe a little courage! We’ll enjoy an evening of spooky stories and Oakmont history.

💗 In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to wear pink!

🍪 Don’t forget to bring a snack or drink to share. The ghosts may not eat, but we certainly do!

Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25!

Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit through Give Like Dolly Day.

On September 25, we’re inviting you to join us in giving back to children by supporting our local Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. Your support helps make it possible for the children in our community to receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5.

RWA raises all the funds to purchase and mail these books. While we receive wonderful program infrastructure, we receive no direct funding from DPIL — every book is made possible by our community’s generosity.

🍂 Our new season is underway! 🍂

We had our first meeting of the year on Monday night, and it was wonderful to get together again! We welcomed some new members, caught up with old friends, and talked about plans for the year ahead.

We wrapped up the evening with a raffle for some beautiful fall mums - and somehow, they all one went home with a new member. 👀 We may or may not have stacked the deck a little… 😉

Our next meeting will be Monday, October 5 at 7PM. The board will meet at 6PM.

We’re looking forward to a great year together! 🍁

💙 RWA Special Charities Meeting 💙

On Monday, we gathered for our annual Special Charities Meeting, an evening focused on learning more about people and organizations making a difference in our community.

We heard from Glimmer of Hope, sharing updates on their work in the fight against breast cancer and the impact they’re making locally. We also learned more about the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) and their efforts in awareness, education, and support.

We were also proud to receive a check from the Verona Eagles representing proceeds from our March Bingo fundraiser - thank you to everyone who came out to support!

Each year, RWA designates a portion of our fundraising to support these special charities as part of our mission of Empowering Women. Making a Difference. 💙

🌸 Join Us Tomorrow Night! 🌸

We're excited to host our Special Charities Meeting on Monday, April 13th at 7PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 378 Delaware Ave, Oakmont. Board meets at 6PM.

We’re welcoming two incredible speakers:
✨ Diana Napper, founder of Glimmer of Hope, will share updates on her organization’s fight against breast cancer, new treatments, and how Glimmer of Hope is making an impact right here in our community.
✨ Dr. Stephanie Archer, MD, a local UPMC physician, will speak about the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), raising awareness, education, and support for ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers.

Your presence makes a difference! A strong turnout helps create a dynamic and engaging discussion for everyone.
