America250PA Indiana County America 250 is a nationwide initiative, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States!

The Indiana County Commissioners passed a resolution in December 2022 to establish the America250PA Indiana County Commission aligning with Pennsylvania’s efforts in this historic initiative. The Center for Economic Operations (CEO) Affiliates is serving as the Advisory Committee for the county commission and we are proud to share that Indiana County Tourist Bureau’s Executive Director, Laura Herr

ington, was been appointed as Chairperson. Those who are interested in becoming involved, can contact Laura at the tourist bureau (724-463-7505) office for more information. The America250PA Indiana County initiative will be a multi-year effort and plans will be shared as they develop. Local businesses and community organizations are encouraged to begin thinking about ways to integrate the America250PA theme when planning for activities, events and projects over the next several years. Check out the Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County's website to register and learn about upcoming events.

Be sure to stop by the Blairsville-Area Underground-Railroad inside the historic Blairsville Armory, while enjoying the annual Knotweed Festival. You can purchase a History at High Noon tour ticket (only $8!), a bottle of refreshing water, a tasty freeze pop, and a unique item at our indoor sale! Proceeds benefit the museum expansion fund.

🅿 Park for free at the KCAC Auxiliary Lot off Wayne Ave and ride the shuttle to Downtown Indiana!
🚌 Shuttle runs continuously on Friday, July 3rd from 4:00 pm - 9:30pm (expect a shuttle every 20-30 min)
📍Park at: 138 Wayne Avenue, (N 40.36.34/W 79.9.40).
📍Drop Off/Pick Up: Indiana Post Office, South 7th Street and Gompers Avenue.
