You spoke... we listened... and we together we took action!

Small in numbers but mighty in impact is how we'd describe the Waterway Warriors crew, who tackled the Hwy 192 Melbourne Causeway shoreline on Saturday. Together, they removed dozens of bags of trash, including discarded monofilament fishing line, one of the most dangerous threats to our dolphins, and LOTS of batteries that have no business being in our waterways! (Those batteries will be properly recycled instead of polluting our river.)

And speaking of dolphins... they showed up too! Our local dolphins made an appearance, almost as if to cheer them on and say THANK YOU for helping protect their home!

The community noticed the trash, spoke up, and the WW volunteers turned those concerns into community action! A big thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. Because when Waterway Warriors show up, trash doesn't stand a chance!

🧇🌊 It’s time for Waffles with Warriors! 🌊🧇

We’ve picked up A LOT of trash together. We’ve hauled tires, filled dumpsters, cleaned shorelines, protected wildlife, and spent plenty of Saturday mornings with buckets and pickers in hand.

This time, we’re putting the pickers down and picking up our forks! 🍴💛

Join us for Waffles with Warriors, a relaxed, pay-your-own-way breakfast where our volunteers, supporters, friends, and Waterway Warriors family can simply spend some time together.

🌊 Clean waterways start with awareness—and action.

Last year, we were proud to partner with Gratium Wealth Planning for a cleanup focused on protecting our waterways and the wildlife that depends on them.

We’re grateful to Wiedmann Films for capturing the experience and, more importantly, highlighting an issue that deserves more attention: the impact of burning wood pallets and other debris in recreational bonfires along our waterways.

What may seem like harmless recreation can leave behind debris, ash, and pollutants in sensitive waterfront environments. That pollution can make its way into our waterways and contribute to the degradation of habitats that local wildlife relies on.

For us, this is about more than picking up trash. It’s about changing habits, educating our community, and taking action to prevent the same damage from happening again.

We’re committed to keeping our waterways cleaner, protecting local wildlife, and helping our community understand that what we leave behind matters. 💙🌱

A huge thank-you to Gratium Wealth Planning for sponsoring this cleanup and to Wiedman Filming for telling the story so beautifully.

Watch the video, share the message, and help us protect the places we all enjoy. 🌊🐢🦆

435 pounds of trash removed from Babcock Street! 🎉🌊

Last week, our Babcock cleanup crew got to work and made a BIG impact on our community.

Together, our volunteers removed 435 pounds of trash from along the roadway. And while this cleanup may have happened on land, its impact goes much further.

Roadway litter doesn’t always stay on the roadway. When Florida’s heavy rains arrive, trash can be carried into storm drains, canals, and eventually our waterways. By removing it before that happens, our volunteers are helping protect the places—and wildlife—we all love.

We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer who came out, rolled up their sleeves, and took ownership of a piece of their community. This is exactly what being a Waterway Warrior is all about:

PICKUP. PREVENT. PROTECT. PRESERVE.💛🌊

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our monthly sponsor, Right On Junk Removal, for supporting Waterway Warriors and helping make efforts like this possible. Having local businesses invest in our mission means we can continue getting volunteers into the community, removing trash, and protecting our waterways.

435 pounds removed—and that’s 435 pounds that won’t be left behind to become someone else’s problem!

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for cleaner communities and cleaner waterways 💪♻️
