Ruff House Animal Rescue is dedicated to providing lost, neglected, abused, and homeless animals with the veterinary care they need and the forever homes they deserve. Ruff House believes that the first step towards change is education; we strive to provide the public with knowledge on proper pet ownership, the benefits of spay and neuter, and the value of microchipping.

One little baby still needs a foster! Previous puppy mill breeding mom. 6ish years old. Crate trained but not fully house broken. Answers to her name. VERY social. Loves everyone. Good with other dogs, cats and kids. She’s a little on the larger side for a pom. Just needs someone willing to give her a chance and willing to work with her a bit.

This little one is Bitsy. She is a retired Amish breeding momma that was surrendered to our rescue because she wasn’t having enough puppies. As her name suggests, everything about Bitsy is teeny, tiny, EXCEPT for her vet bills!

Unfortunately, sometimes when we are agreeing to take an animal into the program, we don’t have all of the information that we would like. After picking her up, when we had Bitsy examined for her spay, it was determined that she needed a great deal of dental work.

Bitsy’s tiny mouth was FULL of rotten, disintegrating teeth, periodantal disease and tartar. If left unmanaged, harmful oral bacteria could enter the bloodstream and damage vital organs like the heart, liver, and kidneys, potentially shortening her lifespan by years. In an effort to give Bitsy the best life possible, 18 extractions were needed. 13 teeth had already fallen out on their own, leaving her with only 11 viable teeth.

Bitsy’s adoption fee will only cover a portion of her vet bills and the rescue will be responsible for the rest. Funds are tight right now and we could really use your help. If anyone is able to donate a few dollars, we would greatly appreciate it.
Ways to donate:

PayPal: [email protected]
Venmo: rhar_oh
OR you can call the vet directly at:
(330) 525-9988
ask to put $$ towards Bitsy’s Invoice #2427303 - The Great Life Spay And Neuter

If you are not able to donate, please at least share this post so people see it and maybe someone else can help.
Thank you so much, we all appreciate any help you can offer!

** Edited to add: any money raised beyond what is needed for Bitsy will go towards caring for our next group of intakes - more retired Amish mommas. Pics in comments.

Need a little love in your life??

This little piggy had soft cocoa fur,
This little piggy would sweetly purr.
This little piggy had bright shiny eyes,
And all three piggies love cuddles and fries*.

This little piggy is Mama so dear,
She keeps her daughters snuggled near.
This little piggy is Daughter One,
She popcorn-jumps and loves to run.

This little piggy is Daughter Two,
She’s gentle, curious, and sweet as dew.
And all three piggies cry, “Wheek! Wheek! Wheek!”
“Take us home — we’re the friends you seek!”

This little piggy can go with her sis,
This little piggy would love Mama’s kiss.
This little piggy can go on her own,
They’ll each bring joy to any home.

So whether together or one by one,
Your heart (and lap) will triple the fun.
These three little ladies are ready to be
Your own tiny herd — your family. 💛🐹

*Pig-safe veggies, of course!

***These guinea pigs are so sweet! They are friendly and like being handled. They do not bite.
All are females. Names and birthdates are on main photo. Churro is the mother of the other two.
We recommend adopting 2 together because guinea pigs are social animals.

Adoption fee is
$25 for one
$35 for two
Cage available for an extra $15
