This little one is Bitsy. She is a retired Amish breeding momma that was surrendered to our rescue because she wasn’t having enough puppies. As her name suggests, everything about Bitsy is teeny, tiny, EXCEPT for her vet bills!
Unfortunately, sometimes when we are agreeing to take an animal into the program, we don’t have all of the information that we would like. After picking her up, when we had Bitsy examined for her spay, it was determined that she needed a great deal of dental work.
Bitsy’s tiny mouth was FULL of rotten, disintegrating teeth, periodantal disease and tartar. If left unmanaged, harmful oral bacteria could enter the bloodstream and damage vital organs like the heart, liver, and kidneys, potentially shortening her lifespan by years. In an effort to give Bitsy the best life possible, 18 extractions were needed. 13 teeth had already fallen out on their own, leaving her with only 11 viable teeth.
Bitsy’s adoption fee will only cover a portion of her vet bills and the rescue will be responsible for the rest. Funds are tight right now and we could really use your help. If anyone is able to donate a few dollars, we would greatly appreciate it.
Ways to donate:
PayPal: [email protected]
Venmo: rhar_oh
OR you can call the vet directly at:
(330) 525-9988
ask to put $$ towards Bitsy’s Invoice #2427303 - The Great Life Spay And Neuter
If you are not able to donate, please at least share this post so people see it and maybe someone else can help.
Thank you so much, we all appreciate any help you can offer!
** Edited to add: any money raised beyond what is needed for Bitsy will go towards caring for our next group of intakes - more retired Amish mommas. Pics in comments.
