On this night 24 years ago, thousands of innocent people went to sleep for the last time. They kissed their spouse or partner goodnight for the last time. They tucked their kids into bed one last time. They watched the Giants on Monday Night Football with their friends for the last time. They made plans for the next day, month or next year. All while having no idea that they would be gone forever hours later. In an instant. One of the many lessons of 9/11 is that life is precious and death can be sudden and random. Life can be taken without warning, without explanation and without a chance to say goodbye. Never Forget.
