Breast Cancer Awareness: Early Detection Saves Lives! 💗🎀

The sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Mu Mu Omega Chapter encourage our sisters, families, friends and community to make their health a priority!

Breast cancer awareness is more than wearing pink. It is about taking action, spreading knowledge, supporting one another and understanding the importance of early detection.

We encourage you to schedule your annual checkups including your mammogram.

💗 Be proactive. Make your health a priority.

💚 Be informed. Know your risks and talk with your healthcare provider about any health concerns.

💗 Be an encourager. Remind your sisters, mothers, daughters, family members and friends to prioritize their health and schedule their checkups.

💚 Be supportive. Stand with those who are fighting, celebrate our survivors and honor those we are no longer here. 🙏🏾🩷

Tomorrow is National Grief Awareness Day. 🙏🏾

Grief is the deep, intense sadness and emotional distress caused by significant loss. It touches all of us at some point. Some days are easier than others and it’s a journey that you simply have to take it one moment at a time.

If you’re grieving, give yourself permission to feel, rest, remember, pray, talk about your loved one or experience with loss, and give yourself grace. Grief support groups and/or a trusted therapist may be an important part of your journey. Through it all, know that you’re not alone.

We’re thinking of and praying for everyone carrying the weight of loss. May you find comfort, strength, peace and hope as you continue to heal. 🙏🏾🩷

Over 27,000 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® gathered for the 72nd Boulé and we were thankful to be in the number. It was a celebration of sisterhood, service, and excellence. 💗💚

Boulé is where business is conducted, leaders are developed, lifelong learning takes place, and our commitment to serving all mankind is strengthened. This year’s gathering was marked by record-breaking community service.

Join the Mu Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® for STEM Day with AKA, an evening designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning through fun, hands-on STEM activities!

🌸 May was a productive and impactful month for Mu Mu Omega! 🌸

We kicked off the month by serving and enhancing our Huntsville community through tree planting and cleaning our adopted street, Sycamore. It was a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to service and environmental stewardship.

We were also honored to celebrate our scholarship recipient, Nijehe Grant, and wish her continued success as she embarks on the next chapter of her educational journey. We are proud to invest in the future and support young leaders as they pursue their dreams.

To close out the month, we hosted our Pink Table Talk: Mental Health Awareness Month Edition, creating a safe and supportive space for meaningful conversations, expert insights, and practical strategies to support emotional well-being. The discussion served as an important reminder that mental health matters and that seeking support is a sign of strength.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end, remember that self-care is not selfish—it is essential. Prioritize your spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being. You cannot pour from an empty cup so take care of yourself. 🙏🏾🩷
