Today, 3 of our HMFD Juniors had the opportunity to attend the 2nd Youth Females in the Fire Service Day alongside 81 young women from Nassau and Suffolk Counties. 🚒🔥

The day began with inspiring talks from four prominent chiefs—Chief Kristin Rhine (FSA), Chief Karen Bendel (Baldwin), Chief Heather Senti (Lakeview), and Chief Jessica Crowley (East Norwich)—who shared their journeys to the chief’s office. Chief Bendel also led a leadership class focused on growing within the junior program.

After lunch, participants took part in hands-on evolutions including EMS Train MCI, vehicle extrication, and fire extinguisher training.

We’re proud of our 3 juniors for representing Huntington Manor and taking part in such an empowering day. 💪🚒

Last night, the HMFD Juniors teamed up with the Halesite FD Juniors for a joint drill team practice. Strong work, great teamwork, and even better energy all around.
