It was a busy morning today. The two recent rescue Danes and sweet tiny Becky saw Dr. Hanna at Houston Spay Neuter.

Becky: after 2 major life saving surgeries in the last 2 weeks, she only had to get her staples out. She’s doing so much better!

Bogie: He’s a youngster at barely 1 year old and 80 lbs. He’s got lots of lacerations and puncture wounds, likely from another dog due one pack mate being in heat. He’s got a body score of 4/9 - but we are working on that and he’ll be even more beautiful soon! We are working on infections and parasites and watching a leg injury that seems to be getting better.

Birdie: Stunning girl around 2 years old and 90 pounds. She will be ideal at 105-110. She has a very swollen leg. It’s possibly a venomous snake bite based on the progression of the swelling…. unfortunately we are not sure if it is a snake bite and giving anti-venom is a minimum of $4000 which would be a lot of money if it’s not an actual snake bite. We did get x-rays, however, and we’ll get those results back pretty quick.

Both Danes are healing and decompressing. Both are incredibly sweet and docile. We know that Bogey is good with dogs, cats and kids!

It’s incredible how many people are stepping up to help these dogs. It’s not only expensive but the time investment is enormous! MULTIPLE care visits, medication administration, just sitting with them to help them decompress. ❤️

💔 Meet Bogey.
The gentle giant who was found wandering a golf course, surviving day by day with little more than instinct and hope.

For reasons we’ll never fully understand, Bogey has spent his life without the things every dog deserves—safety, security, kindness, and unconditional love. No soft bed. No family waiting for him at the door. No one telling him he was a good boy.

Yet somehow, despite everything he has endured, Bogey remains gentle. He remains trusting. He remains kind.

Watching him experience comfort for the first time is both beautiful and heartbreaking. Every soft blanket, every gentle touch, every full meal is a reminder of what he should have had all along.

While Bogey begins his healing journey, our work is far from over.

His sister, Birdie, is still waiting for her chance at safety. So is their loyal packmate, a Border Collie we’ve named Mulligan. Our team is actively working to bring them both to safety so this pack of three can finally leave survival mode behind and find loving homes they deserve.

The road ahead will require veterinary care, nutritious food, supplies, and everything these dogs need to learn what it means to be loved.

Thank you for standing with us as we fight for the forgotten ones. We will be out tonight hoping to safely dart Birdie and Mulligan to get them safe. We are in thick swampy woods with snakes, huge mosquitoes, poison ivy and yes, an 8 foot alligator!

We have been working on humanely darting 2 giant breed dogs and a border collie on a golf course.  it is impossible to get to these dogs by walking our vehicle. We must take a golf cart and it is a 10 minute golf cart or ATV ride to reach them. While the golf course is beautiful, the dogs escape into very dense swampy woods. We’ve encountered copperheads, an 8 ft alligator, extreme heat and mosquitoes 🦟 that are relentless! The dogs are starting to trust…with lots of Vienna sausages!

We have named the golf course dogs Bogey, Birdie and Mulligan.

We have secured Bogey (Great Dane mix). He is decompressing with lots of lacerations, mange, intestinal parasites and an injured leg…possibly a snake bite. He spends a lot of time in a huge kennel for decompressing and often has very large wormy poops in the kennel, so we need cleaning supplies! Good food is essential to getting him healthy!

We also have several medical cases: Butters (orthopedic) and Becky (had TWO emergency pyometra surgeries last week and almost died). Also 3 Pyranees puppies who are constantly hungry and messy ❤️.

Three dogs were abandoned on a local golf course with no food or wa...

Bandit’s family adopted him as a puppy, and they decided to grow their family with a new baby and decided that there was no more room for Bandit. They were taking him to the shelter, which immediately makes him eligible for Euthanasia.

He is such a good dog and deserves a home where he will be family and not disposable….HE FOUND IT!!

Bandit is heading to Seattle tomorrow to his new forever home. His new dog is a friend of the rescue so we know he’s going to have a wonderful life but we want to set him up for success as well as his new dog mom. Transport does not allow much carry-on baggage, especially a crate. We have made a wish list and if you find it in your heart to help send Bandit off on his final journey home, please visit his wish list. The most important thing is the crate if it is no longer on the list that means it has been purchased. 🙏🏻

We’ve launched a Givebutter campaign to help rescue three abandoned dogs currently surviving on a golf course. They are sweet, gentle dogs, but extremely frightened and in urgent need of help.

Two of the dogs appear to be very large Great Dane/Mastiff mixes, making rescue more complicated and requiring the assistance of a professional trapper to safely bring them to safety.

All of this is VERY expensive.

Once rescued, they will need:
🐾 Veterinary care and spay/neuter
🐾 Vaccinations
🐾 Heartworm testing and treatment
🐾 Food and supplies
🐾 Foster homes
🐾 Ongoing rehabilitation and care
These dogs deserve more than fear and survival. They deserve safety, love, and a chance at a new life.

This is Louie in his prime. He’s battled cancer and he’s heading across the rainbow bridge to take an enormous amount of love to all of those who crossed the bridge without love on earth. He’ll also be ready to play with your beloved fur babies who you are missing tonight. 💔❤️‍🩹

We’re here with Becky. She had emergency pyometra spay surgery last week and she’s not feeling good and having trouble pooping. 😔

We are thrilled to have new clinic that is convenient to our founder, Neighborhood Veterinary Centers - Canyon Lakes. We are seeing Dr. Campbell today and she’s taking great care of us.

Becky is only 6 pounds, about 3 years old and a Chihuahua Rat Terrier mix we think.

She just wants to cuddle, give and receive love. 💕
