A couple of weeks ago, Christian Brothers Automotivegenerously hosted an event where some of our Life Skills participants could receive free vehicle inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and brake jobs. By the end of the day, they had serviced an incredible 21 vehicles!

One especially meaningful moment happened during the event. A last-minute brake job was added for one of our Life Skills participants, who was waiting for their car to be finished when another Spanish-speaking participant arrived to have their vehicle serviced. Since the volunteers and staff present at that time didn’t speak Spanish, communication was a challenge. Thankfully, the participant who was already waiting happened to speak Spanish and stepped in to help translate, making sure the other participant could communicate what their vehicle needed.

It was a beautiful example of the community and connection that grow when people come together. We’re so grateful to Christian Brothers Automotive and everyone who helped make this event possible. Thank you for not only caring for our participants’ vehicles, but also for creating space for moments of connection like this one!
