Congratulations to 2023 SCSHOF Inductee Mike Vrabel and his New England Patriots on winning the AFC Championship! Vrabel, who starred at Walsh Jesuit and Ohio State, can become the first person in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player and a head coach with the same team.

The Summit County Sports Hall of Fame mourns the passing of 1983 inductee Bobby “Sumthin” Smith.

Bobby "Sumthin'" Smith, who made history with Akron Zips basketball in the 1960s and coached Norton, South and East high schools, has died. He was 79.

The Summit County Sports Hall of Fame mourns the loss of 1983 Inductee, legendary football coach and athletic director, Jim Dennison, who passed away on Sunday, January 4.

Jim Dennison, the winningest head football coach in the history of both the University of Akron and Walsh University, has died at the age of 87.

The Board of Directors of the SCSHOF congratulates legendary St. Vincent-St. Mary / Copley coach Dan Boarman on his upcoming induction as a member of the Class of 2025.
Boarman will be enshrined at the hall’s 67th Banquet on Tuesday, October 7 at The Bank at East End.
