We can't wait for our season opener, Bach's Coffee Cantata: A Caffeinated Concert!
Mount Dora’s music scene is hitting a pretty interesting stretch.
Within the next few months, you can hear Bach inside a historic mansion, discover rising Christian artists before they hit much bigger stages, or catch everything from Elvis and ABBA to Men Without Hats and Lou Gramm at the Mount Dora Music Hall.
Here are three music experiences worth having on your radar:
1. HOWEY MUSIC SERIES OPENS ITS NEW SEASON
The Howey Music Series kicks off its 2026–27 season this Sunday, October 4, with Bach’s Coffee Cantata at Sydonie Mansion. First Coast Opera vocalists and musicians will bring Bach’s famously caffeinated comedy to life inside one of the area’s most remarkable historic settings — with coffee and cookies appropriately included.
2. JUST ONE PRODUCTIONS IS BUILDING SOMETHING NEW
Just One Productions officially launched last week with a mission to build a bigger home for live Christian music in Central Florida — particularly artists people may be hearing at the beginning of a much larger career.
Their Mount Dora lineup starts November 15 at the Music Hall with Christian-country artist Patrick Gibson and Shari Frink & The Mission. Then on January 10, rising Christian artist Haley Jones comes to Mount Dora, whose 2026 single “Heaven’s Got A Hold On Me” is helping introduce her to a growing audience. Give this new project a follow!
3. THE Mount Dora Music Hall at the Community Building HAS A STACKED FALL CALENDAR
And the Music Hall itself is becoming a pretty serious stop for live entertainment.
The Florida Ultimate Elvis Contest takes over the venue October 1–3, followed by Women of Rock on October 10 and ABBA Euphoria on October 17. November brings The Expanding Man, The Atlantic City Boys and Men Without Hats, before former Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm arrives December 5.
Classical music in a mansion. New Christian artists finding an audience. Nationally recognizable names and tribute productions filling a downtown theater.
There isn’t just one kind of music scene taking shape in Mount Dora right now — and that may be the most interesting part.
