We’re excited to kick off our newest Friends of Down Syndrome Fundraiser! ❤️💚

Just in time for the holiday season, our participants are selling delicious homemade tamales, and we need YOUR help to make this fundraiser a success!

🌟 HERE’S HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT:

Get with your favorite FODS participant and place your order directly through them! Let’s give our participants the opportunity to spread the word, collect orders, and take pride in helping raise money for their school!

🫔 Tamales – $16 per dozen

Orange you glad it’s Down Syndrome Awareness Month?!

Today kicks off Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and we’re ready for a whole month of celebrating, advocating, educating, and spreading awareness about the amazing individuals with Down syndrome who make our world brighter every single day.

A special thank you to the Steve Radack Community Center for having us out for their Fiesta de Música y Baile de Latino Heritage celebration! 💃🎶

A few of our participants had the opportunity to showcase the folklórico dance routine they’ve been working so hard on, taught by Maestra Martha De La Paz of Ambassadors International Ballet Folklorico.

We are so proud of our dancers and grateful for opportunities like this that allow them to share their talents with our community. Thank you for including Friends of Down Syndrome in such a wonderful celebration of Latino culture and heritage! ❤️

🎺🇲🇽 We’re excited to announce that members of Houston’s Mariachi Imperial de America will be performing at our upcoming Fiesta Celebration next Friday, September 18!

Led by award-winning performer and educator Maestro Jose Longoria, Mariachi Imperial de America has been part of Houston’s mariachi tradition for more than 35 years and has earned recognition at major mariachi competitions and performances throughout the years. 🎶✨

Maestro Longoria is also a longtime friend of Friends of Down Syndrome and has been visiting our campus and sharing his love of mariachi music with our participants for years. We are especially excited to welcome him and members of Mariachi Imperial de America to help make this year’s Fiesta Celebration even more special!
