COMMUNITY HEALTH ALERT | LOUISIANA MEDICAID UPDATE
The Louisiana Department of Health has announced that its Medicaid managed care contract with Healthy Blue will conclude on December 31, 2026.
More than 290,000 Louisiana Medicaid members currently enrolled with Healthy Blue will need to transition to another Healthy Louisiana Medicaid health plan for coverage beginning January 1, 2027.
***Important: This does NOT mean affected members are automatically losing their Medicaid eligibility. However, Healthy Blue members should pay close attention to all letters, notices, and enrollment information they receive from the Louisiana Department of Health and Healthy Louisiana regarding their transition to another health plan.
If you or someone in your family currently has Healthy Blue Medicaid, please make sure your contact information is current with Louisiana Medicaid so you do not miss important information about this change.
