Wow - what an exciting afternoon for Foster Care Essentials! We are incredibly grateful to Pat F. of the Alternatives for Youth, Inc., a supporting foundation for the Key Program, for nominating us to be one of the recipients of a $10,000 award.

The Key Program assists at-risk youth and their families with developing positive life skills, so they may pursue productive and rewarding lives. We are honored to have been chosen as one of 16 organizations to receive this meaningful affirmation of the impact we are having in the community. Thank you Key Program and Pat F for helping us to continue our mission of supporting families serving children in foster and kinship care.

💙 We are incredibly grateful for the amazing generosity shown to Foster Care Essentials! 💙

A HUGE shout-out to Suzie Hallam for donating an unbelievable 1,200 toothbrushes for toddlers and youth, along with 1,500 tubes of toothpaste! These essential items will help so many children and families we serve throughout the year.

We would also like to thank Cindy Baker for driving the donations to Hopedale and helping unload and carry everything from the truck into the shop. Your kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference.

Acts of generosity like this remind us how compassionate and supportive our community truly is. Because of caring people like Suzie and Cindy, we are able to continue our mission of helping families caring for children in foster care and kinship care by providing essentials at no cost to them.

We want to give a special shout out to Ella S., a high school freshman, who chose FCE as the focus of a recent school assignment. The task was to choose an organization or program that the student feels does not get enough recognition. Ella researched FCE, investigated our website and page, composed a list of questions, interviewed one of the co-founders, toured our location, and then created an audio-visual presentation for her class. We heard she crushed it! Thanks so much, Ella!

Over 40 families attended our 4th Annual Foster Care Resource Fair on Saturday, March 21 at the Hopedale Community House. Children received Famous Footwear gift cards and summer swag bags filled with essentials like sunglasses and insect repellent wristbands.

Families also enjoyed free raffle tickets and had the opportunity to connect with organizations offering valuable resources for those caring for children in foster and kinship care.

A huge thank you to our partners - Foster MA - Massachusetts DCF, My Ombudsman, Parent/Professional Advocacy League, Rise Above Foundation, TriTogether Corp, and WIC South Central Massachusetts - for joining Foster Care Essentials to support families, share information, and strengthen community connections.

The afternoon wrapped up with 30 raffle basket winners and delicious snacks provided by George's Coney Island. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this event such a meaningful success for our families.
