🐰❤️ Fadel Update!! ❤️🐰

Our sweet little rescue bunny Fadel came home today and is being monitored closely here at Whiskey Acres Animal Rescue & Sanctuary.

We are happy to report that his surgery site looks great, and he will be heading back to the veterinarian on Saturday for another laser treatment to help with his healing. So far, Fadel is doing everything he should be doing — he's eating his Critical Care food, munching on his carrots, romaine lettuce, pellets, and hay, and taking his medications like an absolute champ. 💪🐰

While we're incredibly encouraged by his progress, Fadel still has a long road ahead of him. We know he has a lot of healing left to do, but he's proving every day just how strong and resilient he is.

Please continue to keep Fadel in your thoughts and send all the positive vibes, prayers, and well wishes his way. Every bit of love means the world to this little guy as he continues his journey toward recovery. ❤️

📣 Kaia & Kade Update! 📣

Isn’t it amazing what a little food, love, and compassion can do in just 3 weeks? ❤️

Exactly three weeks ago today, Kaia and Kade arrived at Whiskey Acres Animal Rescue & Sanctuary after enduring unimaginable neglect. These sweet babies were starving, weak, and unsure of the world around them.

Today, we can hardly believe they are the same dogs.

They are thriving, gaining weight, feeling stronger every day, and most importantly—they are learning what it means to be loved. Their personalities are starting to shine, their tails are wagging, and they are finally getting to experience the happiness every dog deserves.

Watching their transformation has been nothing short of incredible. Their journey is proof that when animals are given proper care, nutrition, and a whole lot of love, amazing things can happen.

We are so proud of these two fighters and so grateful to every single person who donated, shared their story, sent supplies, and cheered them on. YOU are a huge part of their recovery.

Just look at them now! 🥹❤️

💔🐰 Please Keep Sweet Fadel in Your Prayers 🐰💔

Our hearts are heavy tonight as we ask everyone to please keep our little Fadel in your thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday, Fadel underwent surgery to repair his painful dislocated hip and was also neutered. We knew the road to recovery wouldn't be easy, but today brought a frightening setback. Fadel became hypothermic and started to decline, forcing us to rush him back to the veterinarian for emergency treatment.

For a while, we weren't sure what the next few hours would bring.

Thankfully, after being admitted and receiving critical care, our brave little fighter has stabilized and has even started eating a little bit again. While we are incredibly grateful for this positive turn, Fadel is not out of the woods yet and still has a long road of healing ahead of him.

This sweet boy has already endured so much in his short life. After being found stray with a completely dislocated hip, he deserved a chance to know comfort, love, and kindness. We promised him that he would never suffer alone again, and we intend to keep that promise.

Please send all the prayers, positive thoughts, and healing wishes you can for our little warrior. We are hopeful that this is just a hurdle in his recovery journey and that brighter days are ahead.

📣📣UPDATE: OWNER FOUND 📣📣

🚨🐴 JD vs. The Farrier: The Main Event 🐴🚨

Today was a big day for our newest handsome guy, JD — it was time for a hoof trim!

Now, JD has had farrier work done in the past, but after seeing his hooves today, it’s clear they were never properly trimmed. And honestly… after today’s performance, we can understand why. 😅

Let’s just say JD woke up this morning and chose chaos.

What should have been a routine hoof trim quickly turned into an intense negotiation between JD and reality. There was pulling, leaning, protesting, dramatic donkey opinions, and enough stubbornness to power a small city. 🤦‍♀️😂

But thanks to the patience, determination, and sheer willpower of Ben, along with help from Owen and Jay, the battle was won. After nearly an hour of donkey shenanigans, JD’s hooves are finally looking the way they should!

A huge shout-out to Ben for reminding JD that while he may be the boss of his stall, he was not the boss of today’s hoof trim. 🏆

Unfortunately, years of improper hoof care have left JD with some deformities in his feet caused by overgrowth. The good news is that now that he’s receiving proper care, we’re hopeful that with time, patience, and consistent trims every 6 weeks, we will see significant improvement.

JD may have tested everyone’s patience today, but that’s okay. Healing isn’t always pretty, and sometimes it comes with four hooves and a whole lot of attitude. ❤️

Please join us in thanking Ben, Owen, and Jay for sticking it out and helping this stubborn boy take another important step toward a healthier future.
