Indiana County Storm Response Team Briefing

​Forecast Update: Saturday, June 6, 2026 (Today)
​The regional weather pattern has shifted, bringing severe potential across Indiana County today. The team needs to remain on high alert for active, convective conditions throughout the day and evening.

​According to the latest meteorological tracking data:

​Daytime Conditions: High temperature reaching 77°F with humidity at 70% and a UV index of 7. Expect heavy thunderstorms to develop across the region.

​Precipitation: There is a high 70% chance of daytime rain/storms, transitioning into a 75% chance of light rain overnight.
​Nighttime Conditions: Temperatures will drop to a low of 64°F under ongoing rainy conditions.
​Winds: Sustained and gusty out of the southwest at 15 mph, which may increase localized damage risks during severe cells.

​Operational Focus: Monitor low-lying areas for flash flooding due to heavy downpours and be prepared for potential wind damage or utility disruptions from thunderstorm impact.

Following communication with the family affected by the fire, we have compiled a wishlist. Please note that the rooms were completely destroyed, and as such, the listed items are clothing only, excluding basic everyday essentials, bedding, socks, toiletries, etc.

Clothing Needs for Fire Recovery
Male #1 (Adult) requires shirts in 3X Big & Tall, pants/jeans in 42W x 32L, shorts in 42W or XXL, and shoes in size 12.

Male #2 (Adult) requires shirts in 3X Big & Tall, shorts/pants in size 44, and shoes in size 12.

The Teen Girl requires shirts in size 14/16 (Teen/Junior), pants in size 14/16 (Teen/Junior), and shoes in size 7 ½.

Additionally, the family is in need of Temptations cat food for their cat and food typically purchased from Rural King for their 5 dogs.

All donations for the family can be dropped off at Fox's Pizza Den in Homer City.

In the interest of transparency, our financial situation is as follows: we have received $150 from two separate donations. Our nonprofit articles of incorporation filing with the Pennsylvania Department of State cost $125. Further efforts require substantial funding. We appreciate any donation. Thank you.
