Holmdel FC & NJX

Holmdel FC & NJX Welcome to the official page of Holmdel FC, a popular and well respected soccer club known throughout New Jersey and beyond.

Holmdel FC, as we know it, has come a long way since the early 90s when less then a dozen teams played at various fields across Holmdel. The clubs teams played many games at the site of the old Bell Labs facility. Not to be put off by the lack of quality ground there, the club made do as they looked to improve this situation with the residents of Holmdel in-the-know that its soccer teams needed be

tter fields, plus more of them! With perseverance and determination by so many, most notably Frank Pento, Holmdel FC moved to Cross Farms Park in 1996. The park back then was scenic, yet nothing like what we see today. Just a couple of undersized soccer fields awaited players and coaches alike, but there was potential. Now, seven full-sided and four small-sided fields, separate practice areas (with lights in the Fall) and storage space is enjoyed by the countless players, coaches and parents who come to play at Cross Farms Park. Not only does Cross Farms Park provide a home for the Townships soccer, it is also home to the towns Lacrosse, Baseball and Softball teams. In March 2013, Holmdel FC announced an affiliation with Matchfit Academy FC. This affiliation would assist the club in continuing to grow whilst helping to improve the operational side of the club. As part of this affiliation, and to accompany the clubs HFC and NJX teams, MF-NJX was born. New teams were formed as a result, taking Holmdel FC to forty-two teams (Jan. 2015) with nearly six-hundred players now playing in one of Holmdel’s three uniforms. In February 2016, it was agreed by both Holmdel FC and Matchfit Academy FC to begin the phasing out of its affiliation. The club took much joy from its three years together with Matchfit. Holmdel FC, led by its Executive Board and army of coaches, trainers and numerous volunteers, constantly seeks new initiatives and opportunities to grow and improve the strength of the club. A huge effort is made to make sure all young players taking their first steps into soccer have a good environment where the love of the game can blossom.

βš½πŸ’š NEW THIS SEASON: GREEN BADGE INITIATIVE πŸ’šβš½

U.S. Soccer has introduced the Green Badge Initiative β€” part of the nationwide movement.

Beginning this season, referees under 18 will wear a green badge to help identify them as youth officials. This simple symbol is a powerful reminder to all of us:

πŸ‘ Show respect
πŸ‘ Be patient
πŸ‘ Encourage their growth

🚨 Important Update: Fines and penalties for misconduct toward referees wearing a green badge will be doubled.

Young referees are learning, developing, and playing an essential role in our game. Creating a positive sideline environment helps them gain confidence and continue their journey in soccer.

Let’s lead by example and support every official β€” especially those just starting out.

πŸ’¬ At HFC, we stand for respect.
πŸ’š Respect the call. Respect the game.
