Edward Draper-Savage would love National Hug Your Cat Day.
Here he is pictured with Kee-Kat in the West Garden below a bronze bust he made in Paris. This photo was taken in 1967 when he was 73 years old. In 1978 he was buried in this garden surrounded by his cats' graves.

Alfred Moore, US Supreme Court Justice and creator of Moorefields, spent his youth in Brunswick Town and is buried there.
Beautiful site- definitely worth a visit!

New Hope Bird Alliance expert volunteers came out last week to make recommendations so that Moorefields can be more supportive to birds and other animals. We are currently 'under construction' before becoming a Certified Bird Friendly Habitat.
This is a great program available to homeowners, renters, schools, churches, and more.

Happy Mother’s Day to Effie Draper Savage (1864-1946), mother of Moorefields' last owner Edward Draper-Savage.

She is immortalized overlooking the peonies, which are currently in full bloom. Edward was very fond of his mother, and she became a common motif in his sculpture work, making several busts of her like the one above, as well as several medallions.

All of these gorgeous pieces and more are on display at Moorefields house if you’d like to see more of her. Also pictured are her three children, Nellie, Henry, and, of course, Edward, the youngest, between his siblings.
