This Thursday, June 18, from 6:00–8:00 PM, we will host another DV Survivor Impact Panel serving communities in Oregon.

During these referral-based virtual dialogues, Survivor volunteers share their experiences with individuals currently enrolled in abuse intervention programs. We host these panels several times each year as part of our ongoing restorative justice efforts.

We know there are many different views on this work, and we honor the diverse ways Survivors choose to heal, advocate, and create change. Participation is always voluntary, and the Survivors who take part do so because they believe sharing their experiences can contribute to greater understanding and accountability.

As always, I am honored to work alongside the Survivors and service providers who make these conversations possible.

If you are a Survivor, advocate, counselor, service provider, or professional working in this field, we invite you to join us as an observer for this or a future panel and experience the process firsthand.

Our social media volunteer Marj Dizon photographs women who haven’t been in front of a camera in 10, 20, even 30 years — and it led her to a question: we have more cameras in our pockets than any generation in history, so why are we less visible than ever?

Marj will share what she’s learned volunteering with our social media, what actually makes people connect online, and one simple thing you can do this week to show up as yourself. Honest, a little personal, and genuinely useful.

I am so excited to share this special invitation with our Survivor community! ☀️Summer is coming, and it’s the perfect time to gather, relax, and just enjoy being together. I am opening up my home in Beaverton for an outdoor potluck, and I would love for you to be there.

Our journeys can sometimes feel isolating, but this evening is a reminder that you don’t have to walk it alone. There’s no agenda, no formal presentations, and no pressure, just a beautiful evening of good food, lawn games, and genuine community where you can truly exhale.
