Here at OtterSpace Wildlife, we give sanctuary to animals that have been injured and can not be released back to the wild. We also take in animals that have been born in captivity or have imprinted on humans. Our goal is to provide every resident a spacious enclosure with room to explore and native features as close to natural as we can make them.

🦊🦝🦌✨ So much has been happening at OtterSpace Wildlife!

Over the last several months, we've welcomed a number of new animal residents, expanded habitats, and continued providing lifelong care to animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Every new arrival has a story, and every animal helps us inspire visitors to learn more about wildlife conservation and responsible stewardship.

Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to see familiar faces, there's always something new to discover. From foxes and raccoons to deer, emus, and many other amazing ambassadors, our sanctuary is growing and evolving every day.

We invite you to come spend some time with us, meet our incredible residents, and see firsthand the work that goes into caring for these animals. Your visit directly supports their care and helps us continue our mission of education, conservation, and compassion.

We can't wait to welcome you to OtterSpace Wildlife! ❤️🦦

Here's what it looks like for each and every enclosure, every•single•day:

☑️ Look over animal(s), ensure they act normal & healthy
☑️ Check enclosure to ensure it's secure & safe
☑️ Clean and tidy enclosure
☑️ Provide healthy, appropriate diet
☑️ Clean or change water
☑️ Give love to those who enjoy social interaction

🔆 We have over 50 seperate enclosures within the sanctuary.
🔆 We have over 250 animals and only 2 employeed keepers.
🔆 We have zero paid engineers, mechanics, lawn keeping, and all the other misc jobs a typical "zoo" would have on their staff-- these daily miscellaneous requirements are completed by our director Jonathan Howard.
🔆 We are 100% donation funded.
🔆 We are blessed to have an amazing vet on call and a few regular volunteers who help as needed.

❤️ We are doing the best we can with ALL we have to give. ❤️

Jonathan, our keepers, and volunteers pour their literal blood, sweat, and tears into Every•Single•Day for these animals so it breaks out hearts when someone claims we aren't doing a good job.

We are not the local big, renowned zoo.
Unfortunately, we do not have big corporate sponsors.
We do not bring in billions of dollars very year.
Our board does not get paid.

But I can ensure you every dollar you donate goes right back into the care of the animals you see on site.

❤️ Support us ❤️
Share our page.
Volunteer your time.
Donate what you can.
But most of all respect ♡ Understand that we are providing the best care we can provide for all of our sanctuary residents.

THIS is our purpose.
THIS is our on-going goal.
❤️ Provide for those who need us most.

💚 Wildlife Needs Wild Places 💚

Sometimes the best thing we can do for wildlife is surprisingly simple: give them space.

Leaving natural areas undisturbed, keeping pets supervised, picking up litter, and respecting wildlife from a distance can make a tremendous difference for the animals that share our world.

At OtterSpace, we are passionate about helping people connect with wildlife and learn how small actions can have a big impact.

Every animal matters. Every habitat matters. Every person can make a difference.

Together, we can help create a future where both people and wildlife thrive. 🌿🦊🦝🦌What's one thing you do to help wildlife in your community? 🐾💚

🪶 Emu Fact of the Day! 🪶

Did you know that emus lay some of the most beautiful eggs in the bird world? Their eggs are a stunning dark emerald green and can weigh up to 2 pounds—about the equivalent of a dozen chicken eggs! 💚🥚

Emus are also the second-largest birds in the world and can run up to 30 miles per hour. Even more impressive, it's the male emu who incubates the eggs and raises the chicks after they hatch.

Want to meet an emu in person? Come visit us at OtterSpace Wildlife and say hello to one of our resident emus! These curious, intelligent birds are full of personality, and seeing them up close is something you won't forget.

Every visit helps support the care of our animal residents while providing opportunities to learn about wildlife and conservation. 🦦💚

🐾 Manic Monday at OtterSpace Wildlife! 🦦

If your Monday feels a little chaotic, just remember—somewhere at OtterSpace there's probably an animal making a bigger mess than you are. 😄

Whether it's a raccoon rearranging its enclosure, a fox investigating something it shouldn't, or a skunk determined to "help" with chores, life with wildlife is never boring.

Every day brings new challenges, unexpected surprises, and plenty of reasons to smile. That's part of what makes caring for these incredible animals so rewarding.

Take a deep breath, tackle one thing at a time, and remember: even the busiest days are better when they're shared with a little wildlife magic. 💚

📸 We'd love to see it! Share a photo of your pet or a wild animal you've spotted recently and tell us how your Monday is going.

💚 Wildlife belongs here too.

Every raccoon, opossum, skunk, fox, deer, and songbird is simply trying to survive in a world that is changing faster than ever. While we often think of wildlife as "visitors" in our neighborhoods, the truth is that many of these animals were here long before our roads, homes, and shopping centers.

A little compassion goes a long way. Securing trash, driving carefully, keeping pets supervised, and giving wildlife the space they need can make a real difference.

The world is a better place when we see wild animals not as inconveniences, but as our neighbors.

🦝🦨🐾 What's your favorite wild animal you've spotted in your community recently? 💚
