"It's amazing getting to see the kids I once helped rescue now happy and thriving. Take Marylin, for example: she was so shut down and didn't accept any touch or human contact for so long after first coming to the farm. But now, years later, her true personality has finally begun to shine! She was one of the first kids to run up to me for love, and even lay down with me.
I've been lucky enough to grow up with most of these animals. I've watched Faith as she has greyed out and grown up into the gorgeous, sassy pony she is today. Grey horses are originally born with a different hair color (e.g., black, chestnut, bay-brown). As they grow up, they "grey out" into a light (almost white) grey. Faith was mostly black with white accents and one white sock when she first came to us. Now, she looks more like Sophie! She's only got a few dark accents on her legs now, and even her mane is so light. Her personality has grown so much as well.
It's always bittersweet coming home to TevaLand, because I desperately miss the years when most of my days were spent here with these animals (and the people, of course). But getting to see who everyone (myself included) has grown into makes it all worth it.
