Stephanie Manley, Treasurer

Born and raised in Baytown, I’ve called this community home for nearly 30 years and feel incredibly grateful to raise my own family here with my husband and our two children. I’ve been a member of The Service League of Baytown and Mont Belvieu for five years and currently serve as Treasurer.

By day, I work in accounting and finance, but serving others has always been important to me. My favorite Service League volunteer activity is giving tours at the Baytown Historical Museum and sharing the stories and history that make our community special. I enjoy using my time and skills to support organizations that strengthen Baytown and make a difference for generations to come.

I’m thankful to serve alongside such dedicated women who care deeply about giving back to our community.

Last week we had the privilege of presenting four high school seniors from GCCISD each with a $1,600
scholarship. Although grades are important, as a service organization what we truly search for in a recipient is outstanding community service. Congratulations seniors!! We are so proud of each and every one of you. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

This year we had an unexpected turn of events with legislature and we only screened around 20,000 students😱! In a typical year, we can screen well over 100,000. This is time given back to all the wonderful nurses across the many schools in the area. Although we are not medical professionals, early detection is key and can make a world of a difference. Please consider opting in with your school for these services.

Did you know the Service League of Baytown has been around since 1948? Odds are, if you attended a GCCISD school you had a lady in yellow check your hearing and vision. Can you guess how many students we screened between GCCISD, Barbers Hill, BCA and Chinquapin this year?

Next up: our projects chair, of course!

I grew up overseas, where I was inspired by watching my mother serve in charities and women’s organizations. A legacy of service passed down from my grandmothers. Today, I’m a wife and proud mother of two wonderful children, and I continue that passion for serving others through volunteering at Mercygate Church, where the mission is “Lives Changed, Relationships Restored, and Destinies Discovered.” I truly enjoy being the hands and feet of Jesus and helping wherever I can make a difference.
Since May 2016, I have been honored to serve with The Service League of Baytown and Mont Belvieu, including serving on the board during my 10 years with the organization. Whether supporting hearing and vision programs, Senior Bingo, Christmas families, scholarships, or celebrating Chinquapin birthdays and graduations, serving others brings me so much joy. I am grateful to serve alongside such strong, giving women who continually inspire me. Truly living out the belief that “iron sharpens iron.”

Next up: Bailey Byford, Board Member at Large.

Born and raised in Baytown, Texas, I’m a Certified Financial Planner, mother of two, and wife. I joined Service League straight out of college as a Legacy and have thoroughly enjoyed my time following in my mother’s footsteps and serving our community. When I’m not volunteering or at work, I like spending time as a family outside or on the boat. I’m an avid hobby connoisseur and usually have a few projects I’m working on or my nose stuck in a book.
