It's officially Maryland Horse Month! 🐎

Horses are an essential part of our state's heritage, economy and dailly life. They support thousands of jobs, protect our open green spaces and bring communities together.

that Maryland's horse industry contributes around $2.9 BILLION to Maryland's economy each year?

Here's how you can help support Maryland Horse Month this October:
- Attend an event.
- Visit a local horse show, racing event or fair.
- Visit a stable.
- Introduce your family to horses at a licensed Maryland Horse Discovery Center.
- Use the Maryland Horse Park System website to find local trails and equestrian venues near you. (https://www.marylandhorsepark.org/)

Leading a TROT ride is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to our equestrian community while sharing the places you love most. As a ride leader, you get to showcase your favorite trails, set a comfortable pace, and create opportunities for fellow members to discover new routes and build confidence in the saddle. Our club thrives on the passion, diversity, and dedication of its members, and without volunteer leaders, many of our free rides and trail-sharing events simply wouldn't happen. Stepping up doesn't require expert-level trail expertise—just enthusiasm, basic preparation, and a desire to connect with other riders. By hosting a ride, you help preserve Maryland's vibrant trail culture, build lasting friendships, and ensure TROT continues to offer dynamic, engaging experiences for equestrians across the region. Ride Leaders set the number of riders they are comfortable with.
