Course For The Cause ~ Golfing For Autism

Course For The Cause ~ Golfing For Autism "The Course for the Cause” Autism Fundraiser is a non-profit organization established in 2008. Our That is the scientific definition.

Autism – “Au-tism” [aw-tiz-uhm] – a pervasive developmental disorder of children characterized by impaired communication and emotional detachment. To parents of these remarkable children, there is an overwhelming sense of pride because, for these children, the mastery of something as simple as a new word is extraordinary due to the effort made to achieve it. What does Autism mean to those not curr

ently affected?

* Autism now affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys
* Autism prevalence figures are growing
* More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes &
cancer combined
* Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
* Autism costs the nation over $35 billion per year, a figure expected to significantly
increase in the next decade
*Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent
childhood diseases
* Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism
* There is no medical detection or cure for autism

A new study shows Equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) benefits for Autism. School of Education for William & Mary College completed a study of 21 children with autism who rode at Dream Catchers in Williamburg, VA. Researchers found that children showed many positive results, including more self-confidence and less repetitive behavior and discomfort with physical contact.
