Today, we are sharing a 5-second trick that will completely save your bridesmaids' sanity at the reception: The bustle loop twist (not a dance move).

When we configure a "traditional" or "American" style bustle, we typically use clear flat buttons or shanked covered buttons. Then there are crochet loops that associate with each pickup point. Sometimes, (and especially when the affixed to the waist) there is a risk of your loops popping up and off- especially during a night of dancing, sitting, dipping and all the things.

The Pro-Tip: Don't just loop it, twist it.

When you grab the crochet loop, turn it the fabric the wrong way, put it on the button, and twist it back face out properly, creating a twist in the loop that locks on the button. Think of it forming a tight "figure-eight". That tiny twist creates the perfect amount of counter-tension, locking the loop securely against the base of the button and preventing it from bopping up and undoing your carefully crafted bustle.

Share this with your MOH right now so she’s ready for the bustle MVP award!

Have you ever seen a bride's bustle come off of the buttons when she sits?

One thing we started doing is sewing a clear "backer buttons" on the opposite side of the fabric, inside the gown.

Think of it as a structural anchor as well as an element that creates a sort of sandwich for the bustle loop. This helps create little pressure to keep everything in place as you sit, stand, spin and dance.

Hit play to see the hidden physics behind a flawless bustle setup!

Our Day One Soirée lineup is an absolute dream. We’ve designed the perfect mix of local heritage inspiration, iconic treats, and good old-fashioned team bonding!

Here is the game plan:
Stop 1: – We are getting an exclusive look inside a legendary Portland institution that has been mastering heavy knitwear and varsity classics for over a century. 🧶

Stop 2: – You can’t come to Portland and skip the classics. These creative minds need a little sugar rush! 🍩

Stop 3: Team-Building Bowling – To wrap it all up, we’re hitting the lanes! Nothing brings a room of independent business owners together quite like a friendly, competitive roll down the hardwood 😂 🎳.

This day is all about stepping away from the studio, soaking in new inspiration, and building real, lasting connections with peers who completely understand your world. We can't wait to see you there!

The price tag on your alterations isn't arbitrary, it’s entirely tied to the level of meticulous work required to ensure your dress leaves looking flawless.

For example, when your gown has a detail like hand-placed pearls, every single piece has to be put back bead by bead, BY HAND, to preserve the integrity of the design.

It’s giving patience. It’s giving luxury standards. It’s giving you a gown that fits like an absolute second skin because of the artisan care behind it.

As said, "forget about the price tag!"

Drop a "🪡" if you appreciate the art of the craft!
