As students head back to the classroom, we want every child to have the opportunity to experience the joy- and the power-of having a book of their own.

Because literacy is about more than learning to read. Books help children build confidence, spark their imaginations, explore new ideas, and see themselves in the world around them.

That’s why this back-to-school season, Book Fairies is working to put books directly into the hands of children through our Books in Backpacks campaign. 🎒📖

The world recently lost a true icon, but her light will shine forever through the millions of children who learned to love reading because of her. Dolly Parton wasn’t just a country music legend; she was a fierce champion for childhood literacy. Through her Imagination Library, she put over 200 million books directly into the hands of kids who needed them most.

At Book Fairies, her passion is what inspires us every single day. We believe-just like Dolly did-that access to books can change the trajectory of a child’s life. Every time we rescue a book, upcycle it, and hand it to a student across New York who needs it, we carry a piece of her legacy forward. Thank you, Dolly, for showing us all what it means to lead with generosity and love. We’ll keep turning the pages for you. ❤️

Meet Our 2026 TCS NYC Marathon Runner: Lesli Cuamani!

What a great night in Wyandanch! 📚💙 Book Fairies was proud to be part of Wyandanch Night Out, bringing books into the hands of community members of all ages. It was wonderful to spend the evening connecting with families, neighbors, and local organizations while sharing the joy of reading.

Wyandanch is an especially meaningful community for Book Fairies, as we regularly host book fairs with the Wyandanch School District. Being able to come together outside of the classroom and promote literacy throughout the community makes these connections even more special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, picked out a book, and helped make the night such a success! We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show just how powerful books can be. ❤️📖
