We held our monthly meeting this past Monday June 8th. The first part of the monthly meeting consisted of the oil consortium's annual meeting with Perillo Bros Fuel Oil Corporation. If you are a member from last year that failed to submit a new application, you will be assessed a late fine if you wish to be a part of the oil consortium again.
The second part of our meeting consisted of putting the spotlight on our commercial supporters. Present with us on this day were Hicksville Car Wash, Pams Jamz Inc., 1-Tom-Plumber Long Island and Schuckman Realty Inc. representing Broadway Mall. smōk-hau̇s was unable to be with us, however they did provide a delicious treat once again. We once again thank our commercial supporters for their support.
We were visited by Malia Peters from the office of Legislator Hon. Viviana L. Russell. Ms. Peters came by to say hello and provided some office information.
We were also given an update on how things are going at Plain Lawn Cemetery by Yannick Anderson from Rockville Springfield and Plain Lawn Cemeteries. We thank Yannick for his visit and his partnership with our organization.
Last but not least, we recieved a visit from the representatives of the owners of 107/109 So. Broadway which is a building that is being given a facelift while converting office space into apartments. The project has since been approved by the Planned Advisory Board.
Two important announcements:
1-Be on the lookout for the planning emails for our upcoming picnic on Saturday, July 25.
2-Through a Commercial Supporter agreement with music producer ChromeOrange Music, we have been able to secure the rights to use the song "Hicksville Is the Place" as our official song to help celebrate our 75th Anniversary. The song, composed by Bob Koenig, was made famous during the screenings of the documentary "Greetings From Hicksville". I guess we can say we are in the music business!
This meeting ended in time to catch most of the Knicks game. We ended with "GO KNICKS!"
