🚨 A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash in Hialeah Thursday morning.

The crash happened near East 2nd Avenue and 22nd Street and involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. Officials say the rider, a 40-year-old man, suffered severe injuries and was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center as a trauma alert.

Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

🔥 Crews have officially contained the massive junkyard fire in Opa-locka that broke out on Memorial Day and destroyed several businesses.

Smoke in the area near NW 135th Street has significantly cleared, and roads have reopened in both directions. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says crews remain on scene working to extinguish lingering hotspots as investigators continue searching for the cause of the six-alarm blaze.

A GoFundMe has been created to support Gary Used Auto Parts and JC Motors, two family-owned businesses lost in the fire. ❤️

In an effort to revitalize and spur business growth in the city's eastern sector, Mayor Bryan Calvo announced a new economic initiative offering up to a year of free rent for selected startup businesses.

The city has earmarked a site with up to 30,000 square feet of available space to help entrepreneurs launch their first in-person locations.

First responders and a tow truck were called to a canal in Hialeah Monday morning after a white Mercedes-Benz SUV was discovered submerged in the water near W 16th Ave & 68th St., just east of the Palmetto Expressway. 🚨

Hialeah Fire Rescue divers responded after being notified by Hialeah Gardens Police. Residents feared someone may have been inside the vehicle, but officials confirmed no occupants were found.

The SUV was later removed from the canal, and the investigation has been turned over to police.

A 90-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning after suffering smoke inhalation during a house fire in Hialeah, officials said. 🚨

Hialeah Fire Rescue responded to the home near W 14th Ave & W 60th St., where crews found active flames and heavy smoke coming from the residence. Firefighters located the woman inside the home and airlifted her to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
