OK ya'll. Time to make things interesting. As you know, Texans Helping Others will be holding their 21 Gun Salute on Nov. 8, 2026. In addition to that, the VFW will be having a Just For Fun Chili cook off. This is NOT a sanctioned event. No points, no qualifying. Just good ole fun. Judging will be TASTE only and you can cook any kind of chili you want. One rule....you have to cook at the VFW. Now, the interesting part. This is a cash prize event and we originally set the pot to $400. Due to the outstanding generosity of our sponsors, I am increasing that pot. We are now offering up a $700 total prize pot! Not bad, huh? So, get them chili recipes dusted off, get to the Post and try to get your hands on a great cash prize for our winners. Entry fees and times are on the attached flyer. See ya in a few weeks folks.

Happy Saturday everyone. We are going to make a change to our Trunk or Treat event on the 30th. Niki, from the Car Wash across the street is also hosting a Trunk or Treat and she's invited us to team up with them and hold a joint event. She will do all the decorating outside and our VFW cars will have their own area to set up and also add our VFW banners. Times are all the same. Just a location change. I (Commander Bill) will take care of directing cars and folks across the street and we'll provide extra parking for attendees.Thanks. 🇺🇲🍅🇺🇲🍅🇺🇲
