What does it mean to be a caregiver? Whether it’s caring for a family member from your adoptive family or worrying about the health of a member from your birth family, supporting a friend or helping a neighbor, or caring for a loved one which may also include yourself, it can be a lot. It takes a lot of time, energy, and patience to care for someone. The invisible work - care coordination, medical tasks, and emotional support - become part of a caregiver’s identity and daily routine. The financial and emotional burden can be hard. Geographical distance, different family members’ opinions and levels of support, and personal relationships can also make being a caregiver even more complex. Whether you are currently a caregiver or were in the past, please join this discussion group to listen and share stories to help make being a caregiver less isolating. Come meet others who are going through something similar.
This discussion group is open to those who self-identify as Asian adoptees. Please register on WEBSITE LINK so we can make a reservation at a restaurant in Allston, MA. The restaurant and address will be shared closer to the event date. Please contact [email protected] for more information. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested but cannot attend. If there is enough interest, we can hold another discussion group around this topic on Zoom.
