Like the sea, the storms of opposition come from every direction—not just physically and mentally, but spiritually as well. Who is leading this battle and stirring this storm? 1 Peter 5:8 tells us it is Satan who opposes God's purposes. The good news is that Psalm 21:11 assures us that, “Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.” Our battle plan? Prayer at all times, in all things. Because Jesus defeated sin and death, we can overcome every storm, and prayer is our first line of defense. “Trust in Him at all times, O people, pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 62:8.

“God is in control.” We hear that phrase so often, but what exactly does it mean? As Christians, our life choices and salvation are a matter of free will, but those who don’t yet know the Lord, mistakenly think that when we say, “God is in control,” we’re saying that “God controls us,” but what love and glory would He have received from us if we could not *choose* His love? Find out more about God's goodness and sovereignty through the eyes of King David from the lesson entitled “God is in Control” posted to Fisher. "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God whose Word I praise, in God I will trust. I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4

Someday, our King will come, but you can know Him today when you study His Word. He's searching for you, and He wants you to live happily ever after in His Kingdom!
"Bless the Lord, O you His angels, you mighty ones who do His word, obeying the voice of His word!" Psalm 103:20

King David praised God for His wondrous works--for hearing his cries, saving himself and his people and fulfilling the needs of all who revere the Lord. We see God’s goodness in the work of His hands with David, and we, too, can praise God for hearing our cries and saving us through His greatest work, the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. Explore the goodness of God in this week’s teaching in the Psalms, posted to Fisher for registered participants. God’s richest blessings to you!

The instruction from this week's lesson in the Psalms is simple. When you find yourself in troubled times, cry out to the Lord. "Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry come to you!" Psalm 102:1 God hears you, He loves you, and He has a plan for your life. In the meantime, be the friend you need. You can find the teaching now posted to Fisher.

God is love and so much more. His chosen place, Jerusalem, stands as a monument to His steadfast love and presence. "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain, beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King." Psalm 48:1-2. Celebrate God and His Holy City in this week's lesson, now posted to Fisher. You are loved!

The pathway to the ancient city of Jerusalem was long and dangerous. As travelers ascended to their destination, they sang songs to bring them confidence in the face of challenges. The God-given principles we find in this week's lesson in the Psalms of Ascent are just as relevant for us, today. Join us and be encouraged. As you study God's Word, you'll walk in confidence with Him! This week's teaching is now posted to Fisher. Be blessed!

Like a snowflake, God made each one of us by His unique design. Each snowflake connects to another and blankets the landscape with beauty and purpose. We, too, form beautiful connections for God's love and purpose. Celebrate God's awesome design--friendship--this Thursday in class. Together, we will connect and celebrate each other and all the ways God blesses us, so that we can bless others in His love, beauty, and purpose. As a registered participant, we invite you to join us for this warm and friendly fellowship. Invite a friend! We're halfway through the class year, and it's the perfect time to join us in our study of the Psalms! And FYI, last week's teaching is posted to Fisher! "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14
