Meet Whiskers. ๐ญโค๏ธ
Whiskers may be tiny, but heโs a pretty perfect example of just how big our rehabbersโ hearts are.
Rats and mice are a little different from most of the animals that come through wildlife rehabilitation. The State does not classify them the same way it does the wildlife species we are required to document and report, and they are generally considered nuisance animals. Because of that, many wildlife rehabilitation facilities do not intake themโand with already limited space, time and resources, we completely understand why.
Technically, they arenโt what weโre here for.
But then someone puts a tiny, helpless little face like this in front of one of our rehabbersโฆ and sometimes the heart wins. ๐ฅน
Thatโs something we see over and over with this team.
These women open their homes, rearrange their schedules, lose sleep, spend their own money, and somehow keep finding room in their hearts for one more โ even when that animal technically falls outside of what we do.
To our rehabbers, a life is still a life.
So Whiskers has a warm bed, a full belly, and someone making sure he gets the chance he deserves.
Weโre incredibly proud of the people behind RobCo Wildlife Rescue. They already give so much to the wildlife in their care, yet somehow, when thereโs a little one who needs them, they still manage to find a little more room in those giant hearts. โค๏ธ
