Implementing inclusive engagement with all community stakeholders while drafting Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) bolsters support for the plan and reveals needs, wants, and concerns of residents that may have otherwise been hidden or unknown. People are more likely to volunteer their time and energy on behalf of community safety during wildfires or other emergencies if they have been consulted from the very early stages of the CWPP planning process.
