Stepping inside the Granary this afternoon, a musician from Los Angeles was writing a song on our piano.... the piano the church down the block donated and that has been sporadically tuned through the past 15 years it's resided in the warehouse. The acoustics, the atmosphere, and, yes, the tuned piano was an inspiration to the song writer. We love hearing from folks all over the world how special the Historic Hayden Granary is, where the echoes of the past meet the today's community life. As a nonprofit in Northwest Colorado, we're dedicated to preserving this iconic landmark and reimagining it as a space for food, arts, and cultural connection. Our journey 'from Grains to Gatherings' has been a labor of love that is fueled by the appreciation of so many folks for this unique place that tells the story of agriculture in our town over the past century. Come join us Saturday, June 20th from 6:30-10pm for our monthly barn dance and experience for yourself how cool this place is! DJ Millie will be on the sound system, Ruth will be teaching "Boot Scoot Boogie" and "Watermelon Crawl" and Rachel and Patrick helping with libations. Thanks to Yampa Valley Bank for making these possible! Come early for dinner and drink at the Hayden Taphouse and Sage and Spirit next door. Learn more at www.haydengranary.org on how you can be part of keeping history alive.
