Foster Youth Friday: Meet Elizabeth Escalante ✨💙
This , we’re celebrating one of our incredible Pay-It-Forward Ambassadors, Elizabeth Escalante: entrepreneur, advocate, mother, and a living example of what happens when resilience meets purpose.
This week, Elizabeth achieved another milestone: she graduated from Los Angeles City College with not one, but two Associate’s degrees in Liberal Arts (Applied Math and Science) and Social Behavior Science! And she’s just getting started in her academic journey. Elizabeth plans to continue pursuing an Associate’s degree in Arts and Humanities, Pre-Allied Health (Dental), and Kinesiology - all of this while raising two teenagers and running her own business! 👏🙌
Elizabeth is the founder of .Queen.Legacy.Healing, which offers Healing Boxes filled with self-care items, because she believes deeply in the power of self-care as a pathway to healing. She has collaborated with her peers and ASOH members to grow her business and, most recently, gifted Healing Boxes to every PIFA who attended our PIFA Wellness Event. 💙
Her commitment to community doesn’t stop there. As a member of the Los Angeles Tenants Union, Elizabeth launched a food distribution program in her neighborhood of Echo Park. She also serves as a student worker at the Guardian Scholars Program at LACC and as a student ambassador for the California Community College District.
Elizabeth’s story is a powerful reminder that healing is not linear, that community is everything, and that foster youth don’t just survive, they lead, they build, and they pour back into the people around them.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for being a champion for our community. Your strength, generosity, and unwavering belief in yourself and others inspire us every single day. 💙
