Enugu.
The President of Igbo Global Network (IGN), Hon. Joseph Dim, has called on Nde Igbo across the globe to recommit themselves to the massive development and urbanization of Ala Igbo, describing the task as a collective responsibility that can no longer be postponed.
Hon. Dim made the call in his Christmas Felicitations Message to Igbo people at home and in the diaspora, urging unity, patriotism, and strategic investment in Igbo land as the surest path to sustainable progress.
According to him, Christmas is a season that reflects values of love, sacrifice, unity, and shared purpose, principles that resonate strongly with the Igbo worldview and must now be translated into concrete developmental actions. “This is the time for Nde Igbo everywhere to rise beyond sentiments and nostalgia and take deliberate steps toward building an urbanized, economically competitive, and future-ready Ala Igbo,” he stated.
Hon. Dim emphasized that Ala Igbo must no longer be seen merely as a destination for festive visits, but as a viable hub for industrial growth, innovation, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment. He stressed that meaningful progress would only be achieved through collective effort, structured planning, and active participation by Igbo professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, and political leaders.
He further noted that Igbo Global Network (IGN) remains committed to its core mandate of driving development-focused initiatives that will reposition the South-East region within Nigeria’s broader economic framework. “The future of Ala Igbo depends on what we do today. Development is not a gift, bit is built through unity, vision, and sacrifice,” Hon. Dim added.
The IGN President also prayed for peace and stability in Igbo land, urging the people to embrace cooperation over division, especially at a time when regional development requires strong internal cohesion.
He concluded by wishing Ndi Igbo a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, expressing optimism that a renewed collective consciousness would usher in a new era of growth and transformation for Ala Igbo.
