Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

Dancer/Choreographer Nerissa Tunnessen and Violinist/Writer Sam Xiao Cody are a dance and violin duo based in Philadelphia. The pair first began collaborating in 2023 for the When Waves Collide Festival, where they drafted their long-form dance theater piece “A Good Woman,” based on Penelope’s story from Homer’s Odyssey. “A Good Woman” toured at the Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Richmond fringe festivals and at PhysFest in New York City. In 2025 the pair developed a new Study for Violin and Dance for Leah Stein’s Studio Works series, performed at various showcases around Philadelphia, including FringeArt’s Scratch Works, the Koresh Artist Showcase, and Mascher Cooperative’s Fresh Juice. Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

Ian “Seven” Tackes is a B-boy, Filmmaker, and
Choreographer. His formal dance training began at
the University of the Arts, which is where he was
introduced to Kyle and Dinita Clark, who he dances
for now as a principal member of Just Sole! Street
Dance Theater Company. He also declared a minor
in film at the university, directing short films such as
“Woods” and “Would that I” over the years. In 2024,
he graduated from Bennington College with a BFA in
Dance under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield.
Over the past year, Seven has recorded numerous
live dance performances in the Philadelphia area,
from names such as Sydney Donovan, Ally Wilson,
Rodney Hampton, etc. Most recently, he performed
in Curt Haworth’s “Imperfect Circles”, as part of
PDP’s Dance Up Close 2026. His own choreographic
work preserves the lineage of breaking, social hip
hop, house, popping, and locking dance forms, while
thematically exploring elements of play and human connection.

Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

India Scott is a Philadelphia-based dancer and choreographer. She holds her B.S. in dance from Drexel University, where she concentrated on performance and choreography. During her time at Drexel she created multiple works for both the FreshDance ensemble, and the Drexel Dance Ensemble. Additionally she spent six months working for Andanza, Puerto Rico’s premiere Contemporary dance company as both an administrative assistant and company apprentice. India is a Yoga teacher who has her 200-hour certification from Progressive Ashtanga Yoga, and is currently working on her 300-hour. In recent years Scott has both danced in and created work for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. In her personal work she focuses on ideas of identity, grief, and energy, largely interacting with literature as a medium for inspiration. In January 2026, she created IRIS/dance, a contemporary dance company that works intimately and collaboratively on developing themes and movement.

Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

Magaly Gallagher(she/they) is a dancer and choreographer born in Laredo, Texas, and currently based in Philadelphia. Magaly graduated in May 2023 from the University of the Arts with a BFA in Dance. Magaly has trained at intensives with Boston Conservatory of Dance, Peridance Performance Project with Akira Uchida, and Doug Varone and Dancers. During their time at the University of the Arts, Magaly trained and performed in works by Katie Swords-Thurman, Mark Haim, Curt Haworth, Lily Mello and Kali Petrizzo.

In March 2024, Magaly founded their own dance collective SHAREDELUSION alongside their partner Lucy Flippen. Magaly has presented work with Philadelphia Fringe Festival via the Cannonball Festival, Koresh Artist Showcase, and Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers Inhale Performance Series.

When Magaly isn’t dancing she can be found teaching barre and pilates around Philadelphia.

Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

Alex Brazinski (he/him) is a licensed acupuncturist, yoga instructor, and movement practitioner who teaches a combination of acrobatics, floorwork, and mobility in Philadelphia. After sustaining injuries as a distance track athlete in college, Alex pursued movement endeavors that offered greater sustainability, creativity, and awareness. He focused on acrobatics and floorwork as a creative outlet and a holistic embodied practice.

Noah Julian Sedgwick (he/him) Noah Julian graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors of Music in 2003. Later studying from the pedagogue Lee Snyder. In Noahs 20s an intense struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis inspired a near decade pivot away from music and toward Yoga and movement. Nevine Michaan, Abbie Galvin and Simon Park are particularly notable teachers from a variety of Yoga disciplines. The decades to follow would involve an integration of disciplines.

Meet the Artists of The Gathering - June 5&6 at & Space!

Cecilia (Cc) Smith (she/they) is a rising senior dance major and women’s gender and sexuality studies minor at Salve Regina University. Cc is a performer and choreographer from Havertown, Pennsylvania, and studies jazz, hip hop and urban styles, a deep investigation of improvisation, and work in contemporary styles. Cc has worked with guest and faculty artists including Brandi Coleman, Ashley Omisore, Carlos R.A. Jones, Joanne Baker, Ingrid Diaz, and Duane Lee Holland. Their work There’s Still Time was invited to 7Midnights Physical Research Dance Theater in New York City in November of 2025, which is dedicated to exploring the 7 social issues of Class, Education, Ability, Sexuality, Race, Age, and Gender. Cc works to advocate for q***r and LGBTQ+ voices with their art, as well as breaking barriers to liberate her own and the voices around them.
