Today we spent the day visiting local businesses from Hartville to Mansfield, sharing the vision behind Blessing Boxes by Ron and the broader work of GOTURSIX.

We are grateful for every conversation, every question, and every person who took a few minutes to learn more about what we’re building together.

Blessing Boxes are neighborhood-scale food access points built by 82 yo Navy Veteran Ron Dorsey and supported by local volunteers, businesses, churches, and community members. They are designed to make it easier for neighbors to help neighbors while strengthening the connections that make rural communities resilient.

As we prepare to launch our first six Blessing Boxes, we’re looking for founding sponsors, adopters, donors, and volunteers who want to be part of the journey.

If you’d like to learn more about Blessing Boxes by Ron, sponsorship opportunities, or how GOTURSIX is working to strengthen food access and support thriving Ozark communities, we’d love to connect.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to travel to Columbia and join advocates, growers, healthcare leaders, educators, legislators, and community organizations celebrating the passage of Missouri’s Food Is Medicine legislation.

Thank you to Empower Missouri for bringing everyone together, Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture for hosting us and sharing their work, Thompson Tables for the incredible locally sourced meal, and Representatives Holly Jones For Missouri and Gregg Bush for joining the conversation.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was touring Columbia Agriculture Park and seeing firsthand what can happen when people invest in local food systems and community partnerships. The conversations ranged from healthcare and nutrition to farming, food access, and economic opportunity.

For us, the visit reinforced something we’ve been thinking about a lot in Wright County: communities thrive when people have places to gather, contribute, learn, and build relationships around a shared purpose.

We came home with new ideas, new connections, and an even stronger belief that rural Missouri can create community-owned solutions that improve quality of life for everyone.

Now it’s time to get back to building.

Thank you Empower Missouri, Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH), Rachel Cahill Consulting, and everyone The Food Bank Market for hosting yesterday’s Missouri Food Advocates Gathering.

We left inspired, informed, and even more committed to strengthening food access across Missouri.

The conversations around SNAP, food security, and community-centered solutions reminded us that real progress happens when neighbors, advocates, producers, and organizations come together to listen, learn, and build practical pathways forward.

From Hartville and Wright County to communities across Missouri’s rural Ozarks, we are grateful to be part of this growing movement.

Food is where we start. Community-owned infrastructure and economic mobility are what we build.

Thank you for bringing people together and moving this work forward. 🌱We’re excited to announce the Wright County Farm Stop coming Fall 2026 🙌
