Last night, our members spent the evening training on drafting and pumping operations. These skills are essential for providing a reliable water supply in areas without hydrants and ensuring efficient fireground operations when every second counts.

Yesterday morning, the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to the northern part of the district for the report of a structure fire. Harrison Fire Department, Harmon Fire Department, Capps-Batavia Fire Department, and Bergman Volunteer Fire Department were requested as mutual aid.

Arriving units found a residential structure heavily involved in fire. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a majority of the fire, however personnel remained on scene for approximately four hours to complete overhaul. One firefighter was treated and released for a minor injury sustained while on scene. NARMC EMS was also on scene for standby.

Yesterday evening, the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to the southern part of the district for the report of a structure fire. Harrison Fire Department, Harmon Fire Department, Krooked Kreek Fire Department, and Western Grove Fire Department were requested as mutual aid. Arriving units found a residential structure heavily involved in fire. Firefighters were able to make entry and prevent the fire from spreading further throughout the structure. Personnel remained on scene for approximately five hours. NARMC EMS and Boone County Sheriff's Office were also on scene.

Yesterday, the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to the Valley Springs area for the report of a tree on fire. Arriving units found a pile of debris that was being burned and caught the nearby tree on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no injuries.
