Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a powerful reminder of endurance, hope, and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
At CYAL, we serve a beautifully diverse community, and we are committed to creating a space where every young person feels valued, supported, and empowered. Juneteenth invites us to reflect on the importance of freedom, unity, and opportunity, values that guide our mission as we help student athletes grow in character, leadership, and faith.
Wishing you and your family a meaningful and uplifting Juneteenth.
