Dear friends, family, and members of the Sudanese community,

I am humbled and honored to share that on August 18th, 2024, I was elected by our community members
as the president of the newly formed Sudanese Community of South Dakota.
This is not just a title for me; it is a profound responsibility and a heartfelt commitment to advocate for each and every one of you.

In these times of uncertainty and struggle, especially as our beloved Sudan faces its challenges,
I recognize the importance of strong leadership and community support.
Many in our community look to us here in the States for guidance, strength, and a sense of belonging.
Together, we will create a safe haven where our voices are heard, our culture is celebrated, and our future is bright.

I am dedicated to fostering connections, providing resources, and championing the needs of our community members.
My goal is to ensure that we can all thrive and contribute to a better tomorrow, not just for ourselves but for generations to come.

The Culture Link is proud to announce the launch of a sponsored English Language Program specifically designed to support African immigrants and refugee adults residing in the Sioux Falls community.

This initiative aims to empower individuals by enhancing their English language skills, which are essential for successful integration into the local society.

Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to improve their communication abilities, gain confidence in their language proficiency, and access valuable resources that will help them navigate daily life, pursue educational opportunities, and advance in their careers.

By fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, The Culture Link seeks to promote cultural exchange and community cohesion, ultimately enriching the lives of both the participants and the broader Sioux Falls community.

I just want to take a moment to thank and praise Courtney Hardie for her incredible generosity and thoughtfulness in personally ordering and buying modest swimsuits for the Culture Link & Embe partnership swimming lessons participants.

Sioux Falls is a diverse community with individuals from different backgrounds and religious beliefs, and Courtney's actions truly exemplify inclusivity and compassion.
By ensuring that the Muslim community feels included, comfortable, and safe during swimming lessons, she is making a significant impact on the lives of those she is supporting.

It is heartwarming to know that there are people like Courtney who go above and beyond to make a difference and show that they care.

I just have to take a moment to shout out to Kerri Tietgen for being an absolute powerhouse of a leader and a true girls' girl. 🌟

Not only does she inspire and empower everyone around her, but she also embodies grace, strength, and kindness in everything she does.

I have to share this story,
I had an emergency incident with a family member and her children last year and they needed all the support and resources they can get.
I reached out to Keri and within 24 hours she had a solution for my family member.

Keri, you are a shining example of what it means to be a strong, confident woman who lifts others up along the way.
