Oklahoma Academy

Oklahoma Academy True education is missionary training; fitting us for this work should be the object of education.

Nothing in this world equals the thrill of leading someone to Jesus. This is the essence of Oklahoma Academy…leading young people to Jesus so they can lead others. Located just outside Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Academy is strategically positioned to train its students to be soul winners for Jesus.

“True education is missionary training…and to fit us for this service should be the object of our educ

ation” (MH 395). This overall purpose of Oklahoma Academy flows through every aspect of the program. The college preparatory curriculum is designed to not only prepare students for college, but also teach them how to reach people for Christ. The music program extends beyond performance as a ministry that touches hearts when other media cannot. To this end, the chorale, bell choir, and string ensemble travel throughout the United States and the world, sharing the gospel through music. Since all true ministry is founded on character and a strong work ethic, the vocational program at Oklahoma Academy seeks to establish this foundation in its students. Learning the practical, simple skills of life is an essential preparation for service. Along with the usual work areas of canvassing, cafeteria, maintenance, offices, farm, and grounds, Oklahoma Academy offers two programs designed to train young people in specific skills for missionary work: massage therapy and mission aviation. Seeking God in His second book of nature is an important part of Oklahoma Academy. Whether it is horse camp, a Waldensian hike in the Wichita Mountains, or Sabbath outings to a park, students have many opportunities to enjoy the rejuvenation that fellowshipping in nature can bring. Founded in 1981, Oklahoma Academy has a nearly 30-year history of excellence. In everything they do, their goal is to help the students “obtain an education that will help them to stand by the side of Christ in unselfish service” (MH 395)

Students Faced Mission Rescue Challenges From Around the World | STEAM Day at Oklahoma Academy

STEAM Day at Oklahoma Academy was more than science experiments and robotics — it was a campus-wide mission adventure.

Students traveled through hands-on challenges inspired by mission rescue scenarios from around the world, using science, technology, engineering, arts, music, and teamwork to solve problems and complete missions.

Activities included:
🌍 Mission Hunger Rescue (Science)
🤖 Mission Robotic Rescue (Engineering)
💻 Mission Oasis Rescue (Technology)
🎵 Mission Music Rescue (Music)
🎨 Mission Press On (Arts)
🌏 Mission Rescue for All (STEAM Finale)

From programming “human robots” to complete peanut butter and jelly instructions to solving rescue scenarios in multiple languages and cultures, students experienced how creativity, communication, and teamwork connect with mission.

At Oklahoma Academy, learning goes beyond the classroom.

850 People in One Weekend… What These Students Built Will Inspire You

Nearly two weeks ago, Oklahoma Academy sophomores and staff set out on a mission—to build, present, and guide others through Messiah’s Mansion.

After a careful and detailed setup, a full-scale model of the Hebrew Tabernacle stood ready—just as it would have appeared in the wilderness.

During the very first weekend, over 850 visitors walked through this living sanctuary experience.

Each tour reveals more than history. It shows how the tabernacle was God’s way of teaching a people who had come out of slavery—helping them understand His character, His presence, and His plan.

Every symbol points forward to something greater.

A plan of salvation.
A sacrifice.
A Savior.

This is more than a display.
It’s a mission in action—students learning, serving, and sharing truth in a powerful, visual way.

What Academy Music Really Sounds Like 🎶

Music at Oklahoma Academy is about more than performance—it’s about purpose.

From quiet, reflective pieces to powerful full-ensemble moments, our students are learning to use their talents in a way that inspires others and honors something greater than themselves.

We’ve put together a playlist of some of our favorite sacred performances, including choir, bell choir, and instrumental music.

If you’ve ever wondered what academy music really sounds like… this is a glimpse.

From Oklahoma to Texas—Music With a Mission 🎶

Our Oklahoma Academy music groups recently had the privilege of sharing a special program at several Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Texas—and what a blessing it was.

From heartfelt choir pieces to instrumental selections, our students weren’t just performing… they were ministering.

🎶 This video from the West Houston SDA church program is a glimpse into what makes our music program so meaningful—developing talent, building character, and using music to share God’s love.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this—and for the students who dedicate their time and gifts to something bigger than themselves.

“She Fixed the Toilet… and Proved Something Bigger.”

We are so proud of our students serving at camp Wewoka Woods this week—quietly doing the kind of work that keeps everything running.

But one moment stood out.

While cleaning, the ranger told the group to leave one toilet alone—it needed repair.

Before anyone else could respond, Joye spoke up:

“I’ll fix it.”

At first, he hesitated… until she started naming the tools she needed.

That’s when he realized—she knew exactly what she was doing.

When he asked where she learned it, her answer said it all:

“At school. In our vocational program.”

She went on to replace the toilet seat herself.

Moments like this remind us—education isn’t just about knowledge.
It’s about preparing young people for real life… and real service.

👏 Huge shoutout to Joye
👏 And to our vocational program
👏 And to Mr. Bazemore & Mr. Show for investing in our students

This is what it means to prepare workers—for the Harvest and for life.
