I wanted to take a minute to address an ongoing comment that I keep repeatedly seeing. I want to first say, we truly appreciate everyone’s amazing support. We are celebrating 25 years this year! Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue has been assisting law enforcement and animal welfare agencies for the last 25 years. Animal cruelty has and will always be our number 1 focus and making sure the horses in our care always receive the care they need and deserve. We will never waiver on that.
There has been one thing that I have not been on top of this year, and that’s the website. At the end of April, my husband Shawn, was admitted to the hospital for sepsis due to kidney stones. We had no idea that he had been suffering from kidney stones for a very long time. He had 2 stones in his right kidney measuring 1.2cm each that were basically fighting to get through his ureter, which caused a blockage to his right kidney. We suspect this had been going on for quite some time, as he developed scar tissue around the stones, basically sealing off his right kidney. He also had 1 large stone in his left kidney measuring 2.4cm. He went through 7 procedures total from May to July and is finally free of all kidney stones. This isn’t something that I would normally share, as I understand that you follow our organization for the work we do and the horses we save. However, I felt that it was important to note, as the website is what I felt wasn’t a priority. The horses care remained top priority, and I am thankful for my family and volunteers that made sure everything ran smoothly on that end. We still managed cruelty cases, we still managed the care of all the horses and other livestock in our care daily. And we still managed to schedule appointments to show horses available for adoption. The ONLY thing that we have not updated is the website. With that said, I will get it updated, but I will always recommend scheduling an appointment to come meet all the available horses. That’s truly the best way, meeting them, getting a feel for the horses you may be interested in and finding the best match for you. We don’t pressure here, if you want to adopt, awesome, if you don’t find what you are looking for, we understand completely. I say all of this to say, we have and will continue to focus on what is priority and I would appreciate just a little bit of grace and patience on a website.
