Domestic Violence Awareness Month may be ending, but awareness shouldn’t. Keep listening. Keep learning. Keep checking on the people you love. Keep sharing resources. Keep choosing compassion. Building safer communities isn’t something we do for one month. It’s something we can choose every day.

Your story is not finished. Hard seasons do not get the final word. There can be safety after fear, community after isolation, and hope after uncertainty. As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to a close, we continue standing for communities where every person is treated with dignity and has the opportunity to move forward.

You don’t have to have all the answers to support someone. Listen. Believe them. Avoid judgment. Ask how you can help. Respect their decisions. Help connect them with trusted resources when they’re ready. Compassion isn’t about fixing someone’s situation. Sometimes it begins by making sure they know they don’t have to face it alone.

Our Hearts Are With Bend, Oregon.

Our community is grieving following the heartbreaking tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary School.

We lift up in prayer the families who have lost loved ones, the parents facing unimaginable grief, the children who witnessed this tragedy, and every student, teacher, and community member affected.

In the midst of this heartbreak, The Salvation Army Bend Corps Envoys Alfonso and Luz Juarez stepped forward to serve their community, joining hundreds gathered at a vigil Thursday evening. Through emotional and spiritual care, prayer, and the simple act of offering bottled water, they provided comfort and compassion to neighbors in need.

As we face the difficult days ahead, we ask you to join us in praying for the families, the injured, our first responders, and everyone carrying the weight of this tragedy.
