❤️ Hunger Doesn't Take the Weekend Off!

Did you know that right here in Harris County, 144 students across 7 schools receive bags of food every Friday to help ensure they have something to eat over the weekend?

Even more inspiring, the Backsnacks Program of Harris County is STUDENT-LED! These incredible young people are stepping up to help other children in their own community. ❤️

School Lunch Angels is proud to support their efforts with a recent donation of 288 servings of chicken and tuna salad, providing two protein-rich snacks for each of the 144 students served.

🥪 Why protein? BackSnacks aims to include 50 grams of protein in every weekend bag, but high-protein foods are among the most expensive items to provide, often costing $1.50 to $2.00 per serving.

💛 YOU CAN HELP!

BackSnacks is always grateful for donations of shelf-stable, protein-rich foods such as chicken or tuna salad, shelf-stable milk, Beanie Weenies, protein bars, and jerky sticks.
