Thursday's Rotary lunch was one our members will be talking about for a while.

Thank you to Victor Paruta Psychic Medium for joining us at Basil 1791 to share a little about his work as a psychic medium! Victor walked us through how he got started and what his work entails before giving live readings using personal objects brought by our members. And according to Victor, a few spirits even pulled up a chair and joined us for lunch. 👻

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and we’re getting ready to make Christmas a little brighter for local children through the Rotary Angels program in partnership with the Salvation Army! 🎄🌟

In November, we’ll be passing out angel tags, giving you the opportunity to choose a child and make a meaningful impact this holiday season. Keep an eye out for more details on when you can pick up a tag. 🎁

A small act of kindness can make a BIG difference in a child’s Christmas. Let’s come together as a community to spread some holiday cheer! ❤️🎅

This month’s Rotary Field Trip took us to Café Lee at Butler Tech! Café Lee is a student-run restaurant operated by seniors in the Culinary Arts program.

The students prepared a delicious meal featuring roasted butternut squash bisque, seared pork chops topped with apple chutney and served with roasted Brussels sprouts and au gratin potatoes, and Moelleux au Chocolat served with salted vanilla sauce and topped with powdered sugar and mint.

Rotary was proud to sponsor Badin’s Hall of Honor, recognizing outstanding alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Stephen T. Badin High School, Hamilton Catholic, and Notre Dame High Schools.

The event raised more than $5,000 for the school’s annual fund, helping provide opportunities for current and future students.

Rotary Vice President Bethany Spaeth attended the celebration, while fellow Rotarian and Badin President Brian Pendergast had the honor of presenting awards to this year’s recipients!

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever. We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and we honor the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to help others.

At Rotary, Service Above Self isn't just our motto, it's what we saw that day in the actions of ordinary people who became extraordinary. Today we pause to reflect, to remember, and to recommit to building the kind of community that stands together in the hardest moments.

We will never forget.
