The Welsh Society regrets that it will not be holding a dinner to celebrate St. David's Day this year due to Covid-19 concerns. When we feel that it is safe to start having social events again it will be posted on this page and emailed to those on our email address list.

Every year the Welsh Society of Greater Cincinnati has held a tea in December to celebrate the Christmas season. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, there will be no tea this year. Tea was the name given to the dinner held usually with roast lamb and the many delicious dishes brought by the members. Latterly the event was held at Plas Cadnant B&B with Christmas Crackers (a British tradition) which usually contained a paper hat, a riddle or joke and a small toy. Nadolig Llawen to all my readers.

If you like to hear some Welsh singing search for Only Boys Aloud on the internet. They sang a well known Welsh Hymn on Britain's Got Talent and came in second place.

The Welsh Society is very sad to report the death of their president Sian Stow on April 24th. She was born in Caernarfon, N. Wales on Jan 8, 1949 and came to the States in 1979. She was a founding member of the present Welsh Society of Greater Cincinnati and a member of the Cor Gwalia Choir which sang at many venues in the 1980's. Latterly she was the only Welsh speaker in the Society. The board of the society will be meeting in the next few weeks to select a president.
