Valwood Valwood School is an independent college preparatory school, enrolling students Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Now Hiring: Part-Time After School Program Staff

Valwood School is seeking energetic, responsible, and caring individuals to join our Beyond the Bell after school program team.
**Valwood 10-12th graders are encouraged to apply as well!**

Position: Part-Time After School Program Staff Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:15 – 5:30 PM

Responsibilities: • Supervise and engage with students in grades Pre-K – 5th. • Lead activities, assist with homework, and ensure a safe, positive environment • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Ideal Candidates: • Enjoy working with children • Are dependable, enthusiastic, and team-oriented • Have prior childcare or education experience (preferred, but not required) • Are able to legally drive a vehicle • Must pass a background check

We are proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Odyssey of the Mind team at the World Finals competition this past weekend in Ames, Iowa.

While the team did not earn a top placement, their performance was truly remarkable. Competing against students who were often several years older and more experienced, they represented our school with creativity, determination, and professionalism. Rather than being intimidated by the challenge, they rose to the occasion with confidence, enthusiasm, and resilience.

What makes this achievement especially meaningful is the courage it took to step onto an international stage and perform at such a high level. Throughout the experience, our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, creativity, sportsmanship, and perseverance, skills that will serve them well far beyond any competition.

Their dedication and willingness to challenge themselves reflect the very best of our school community.

Congratulations to our Odyssey of the Mind team on an outstanding season and for representing Valwood with excellence on the world stage. Our entire community is proud of you.

As we wrap up another incredible school year, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Valwood Parents Association President, Amanda Davis, for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to the Valwood family.

From organizing events and supporting our faculty to encouraging parent involvement and helping create memorable experiences for our students, her commitment has made a lasting impact on our school. Her countless hours of volunteer work, enthusiasm, and love for Valwood have strengthened our community in so many ways.

Thank you for your leadership, your generosity, and the many ways you've helped make this year such a success. We are grateful for all you've done and the difference you've made for our students, families, and faculty.
