šŸ„•šŸ… Calling All Gardeners! šŸŒ½šŸ„’

God's Food Bank is currently experiencing a shortage of fresh produce through our regular food supply channels. Unfortunately, we have been unable to receive fresh fruits and vegetables in our weekly orders, and we know how important these nutritious items are for the families we serve.

If your garden is producing more than your family can use, we would be incredibly grateful for donations of fresh produce. Tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, green beans, zucchini, melons, and other garden favorites can make a meaningful difference on our pantry shelves.

Your extra harvest could help provide fresh, healthy food to neighbors right here in Logan County while we work through these supply challenges.

Produce donations can be dropped off during our regular hours at God's Food Bank. If you have questions about donating, please contact us. Our hours on Wednesday, (tomorrow June 3) are 9:30-5:30. 405-260-1412

Thank you for helping us nourish our community and for sharing the abundance of your garden with families in need. ā¤ļø

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of God’s Food Bank’s founders, Patty Hazelwood.

Patty was more than a founder — she was a compassionate servant to this community and a woman whose kindness and vision helped create something that continues to bless countless families throughout Logan County today. Alongside others who believed no family should go hungry, she helped build God’s Food Bank from the ground up with faith, determination, and a heart for helping others.

What began as a simple desire to serve those in need became a lasting legacy of compassion because of people like Patty. Her impact reaches far beyond the walls of the food bank. It lives on in every family fed, every volunteer inspired to serve, and every act of kindness shared in this community.

We are deeply grateful for the foundation she helped lay and the example of service she leaves behind. Her legacy will continue through the mission she helped begin so many years ago.

Please keep Patty’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you, Patty, for your servant’s heart, your dedication, and the lasting difference you made in the lives of so many.

šŸ„šŸ–šŸ‘ Calling all livestock show families! šŸ“šŸ„š

God’s Food Bank is grateful to accept donations of processed livestock animals from youth exhibitors and families who would like to give back to our community once their animals have been processed.

We are able to accept:
• Beef
• Pork
• Lamb
• Other processed meats
• Farm fresh eggs

These donations help us continue providing quality protein options to families throughout Logan County, and we are incredibly thankful for the support of our agricultural community.

This Week at God’s Food Bank: Fresh Finds & Simple Recipes!

We know some of the items we receive each week might not be things you use every day — so we’re here to help with a few easy, budget-friendly recipes to make the most of what’s available!

Here are a few ideas using this week’s produce:

Chayote Squash – Simple SautĆ©ed Chayote
Slice your chayote (remove the seed if you’d like) and sautĆ© in a little oil with garlic, salt, and pepper for about 8–10 minutes until tender.
Mild, easy, and great as a side dish!

Guava – Guava Yogurt Parfait
Layer diced guava with yogurt and a little granola or crushed cereal. Add a drizzle of honey if you like a little extra sweetness.
Perfect for breakfast or a quick snack!

Honeydew – Honeydew Smoothie
Blend honeydew with half a banana, yogurt (or milk), and ice until smooth. Refreshing, kid-friendly, and great on a warm day!

Brussels Sprouts – Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Cut in half, toss with oil, salt, and pepper, and roast at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until slightly crispy.
Simple and full of flavor!

šŸ’” Tip of the Week:
Don’t be afraid to try something new! Many of these foods are mild in flavor and take on whatever seasoning you enjoy.

ā¤ļø As always, thank you for being part of our community. We’re here to support you — not just with food, but with ways to make it work for you and your family.

This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week. We provided a baked potato bar for each volunteer that helped us serve the community yesterday.

Today, we just want to take a moment to say thank you.

At God’s Food Bank, we serve hundreds of families each week—but none of that would be possible without the incredible group of volunteers who show up, week after week, with willing hands and generous hearts.

They sort food, stock shelves, greet families, carry boxes, and do a thousand little things that often go unseen… but never go unfelt.

What they give isn’t just their time—it’s compassion, dignity, and care for every person who walks through our doors.

We truly could not function without them.

To every volunteer who has ever given even a single hour—you are the reason we are able to do what we do. You are making a difference in ways that matter more than words can say.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you

God’s Food Bank will now be offering recipes each Wednesday to help you make the most of some of the items you may not typically receive.

This week, we have recipes featuring chayote squash (vegetable) and guava (fruit). If you’re unable to locate the recipes, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our volunteers—they’ll be happy to assist you.

We are also working on launching a weekly email with these recipes, so be on the lookout for that in the near future!
